There comes a stage in UPSC preparation when reading more is no longer enough.
You may know the syllabus. You may have completed the standard sources. The real challenge is to recall, apply and reproduce what you know under examination conditions. That is exactly the gap the InsightsIAS CORE Batch 2027 is built to close.
CORE is a complete UPSC Test Series 2027 programme for aspirants who have finished at least one reading of the syllabus and are ready for structured revision, regular testing and intensive answer writing. The pattern has been redesigned for UPSC CSE 2027 so that you prepare for Prelims and Mains together, on the same topics, instead of in isolation.

What is new: integrated Prelims and Mains practice
The biggest change in CORE Batch 2027 is integration. You will not study a topic for Prelims and then come back to it months later for Mains. The same topic is tested through Prelims, CSAT and Mains questions together, so you build factual clarity, conceptual understanding, analytical ability and answer writing skills at the same time.
Every integrated sectional test begins with 10 Mains + 20 Prelims GS + 5 CSAT questions:
Prelims segment
25 questions (20 GS + 5 CSAT)
50 marks
30 minutes
Mains segment
10 questions
125 marks
1 hour 30 minutes
From there you progressively move towards 20 Mains questions in 3 hours, the actual exam format. The focus stays on content recall, question interpretation, answer structure, presentation, speed and time management.

Essay and Ethics: full-length practice, every time
9 Essay Tests
On every Essay Test date you get 8 topics and write 2 essays in 3 hours. Themes span philosophical, social, ethical, political, economic, scientific and contemporary issues, so you develop your own way of brainstorming, structuring arguments, using examples and keeping the essay coherent.
9 Ethics Tests
Each test has 19 questions in 3 hours, covering both theory and case studies. Regular full-length practice sharpens conceptual clarity, application, use of examples and ethical reasoning.
How the CORE learning cycle works
CORE is not about writing a test and waiting for the next one. Every test starts a cycle that ends with you writing a better answer next time.
Step 1
Write
Step 2
Evaluate
Step 3
Discuss
Step 4
Identify gaps
Step 5
Improve
Step 6
Write again
Across the year, testing moves in a clear progression: sectional practice, then integrated practice, then full-length tests, then examination simulation. You do not wait until you feel fully prepared to start writing. You write, find your gaps, fix them and come back stronger.
The purpose of a test is not to prove that you are prepared. It is to make you prepared.
Beyond tests: what every CORE student gets
Tests are only one part of the programme. Here is the support system built around them.
Test discussion immediately after every test
Discussion happens right after the test in offline mode. Mains questions are discussed live and streamed for CORE students, while faculty simultaneously explain the Prelims questions, key concepts and related topics from the same syllabus. This helps you:
The live Mains discussion also builds accountability, so you write every test on its scheduled date instead of postponing it.
Dedicated faculty mentorship
Core faculty members are allotted a set of mentees and stay in regular contact with them for focused academic guidance. Mentorship covers:
Priority evaluation of answer copies
Writing helps only when you know what to improve. CORE students get their evaluated copies uploaded on a priority basis, so you can study faculty feedback quickly and apply it in the very next test.
Subject orientation by faculty
Before each major subject module, the subject faculty explain the preparation approach, syllabus coverage, sources, test strategy and expectations, from both the Prelims and Mains perspective.
Regular guidance sessions with Vinay Sir
These sessions focus on preparation strategy, consistency, course correction and examination approach, helping you stay focused through the entire journey.
Quality peer group and optional wise groups
You prepare alongside serious aspirants following the same disciplined schedule. Students with the same Optional subject are grouped together to discuss approaches and learn from one another, without losing individual focus.
Monthly Quiz Compilation tests
In addition to the timetable tests, you get extra tests every month based on Quiz Compilation questions. They keep Current Affairs revision regular, strengthen Prelims recall, reveal weak areas and stop you from leaving Current Affairs for the final months.
An additional round of Full-Length Tests
Compared to the previous CORE pattern, one more round of Full-Length Tests has been added. More FLTs means better time management, question selection, writing endurance, decision making under pressure, completion strategy and examination temperament.
Systematic Mains completion by February 2027
All major CORE tests finish by February 2027. You complete an intensive cycle of GS, Essay and Ethics answer writing first, then shift your full attention to Prelims without a Mains backlog.
Limited seats for individual attention
Mentorship, evaluation, guidance and continuous tracking only work when every student gets real attention. That is why CORE Batch 2027 has limited seats.
