Ashok Leyland’s All-Women Line Ashok Leyland established its first all-women production line, empowering 80 skilled women to assemble engines and address the growing demand.

Tamil Nadu’s success in fostering women’s employment is attributed to factors like:

  1. Competitive wages
  2. Well-formulated policies such as free and safe transport, internal complaints committees, and maternity leave
  3. Well-networked urban infrastructure
  4. Good education facilities
  5. Provision of crèches
  6. Access to healthcare

Despite progress, challenges remain, including the need for greater acceptance of women in leadership roles and continuous efforts to ensure equal treatment and protection against discrimination.
