Indian startup ‘Kheyti’ won the prize in the ‘Protect & Restore Nature’ category.

  • What is the Earthshot Prize?

-The annual awards were created by Prince William to fund projects that aim to save the planet. -5 Earthshot Prizes of £1m ($1.2m) are being awarded each year until 2030 in support of environmental innovation projects for the future.

  • Why did Kheyti from India win the prize?

-Kheyti provides technology solutions for small farmers. They design, adapt & implement low-cost farming solutions that help small farmers increase yield & predictability of produce.

-They are currently working with 1000 farmers in 6 states of India. They have 1500 farmers enrolled in their program today & aim to reach 50,000 farmers by 2027.
