Question 1 of 5
1. Question
If 4 (A’s capital) = 6 (B’s capital) = 10 (C’s capital), then out of a profit of Rs. 4650, C will receive
Correct
Answer : C
Let 4A = 6B = 1OC = k.
Then, A=k/4, B=k/6, and C=k/10
A : B :C = k/4 : k/6 : k/10 = 15 : 10 : 6. Hence, C’s share (4650×6)/31 = Rs 900.
Incorrect
Answer : C
Let 4A = 6B = 1OC = k.
Then, A=k/4, B=k/6, and C=k/10
A : B :C = k/4 : k/6 : k/10 = 15 : 10 : 6. Hence, C’s share (4650×6)/31 = Rs 900.

Question 2 of 5
2. Question
A vessel of capacity 2 litre has 25% alcohol and another vessel of capacity 6 litre had 40% alcohol. The total liquid of 8 litre was poured out in a vessel of capacity 10 litre and thus the rest part of the vessel was filled with the water. What is the new concentration of mixture?
Correct
Answer : D
Amount of alcohol in first vessel = 0.25 x 2 = 0.5 litre,…
Amount of alcohol in second vessel = 0.4 / 6 = 2.4 litre..
Total amount of alcohol out of 10 litres of mixture is 0.5 + 2.4 = 2.9 litre ..
Hence, the concentration of the mixture is 29% =(2.9/10 x 100 )
Incorrect

Question 4 of 5
4. Question
When the numerator of a fraction is decreased by 25% and its denominator is decreased by 20%, the new fraction obtained is 3/4. Find the original fraction?
Correct
Answer : B
Explanation:
Let the fraction be x/y. When the numerator decreased by 25% and the denominator decreased by 20% (x * 3/4)/(y * 4/5) = 3/4 => x/y = 3/4 * (4/5)/(3/4) = 4/5
Incorrect
Answer : B
Explanation:
Let the fraction be x/y. When the numerator decreased by 25% and the denominator decreased by 20% (x * 3/4)/(y * 4/5) = 3/4 => x/y = 3/4 * (4/5)/(3/4) = 4/5

Question 5 of 5
5. Question
Simple interest on a certain sum of money for 4 years at 5% per annum is half the compound interest on Rs. 3000 for 2 years at 10% per annum. The sum placed on simple interest is:
Correct
Answer : A
Compound interest = [P (1 + r/100)^t – P]
= [3000 (1 + 10/100)^2 – 3000] = 630 From data,Simple interest is half of compound interest Therefore, SI = 630/2 = 315 Time = 4 years, rate of interest = 5% pa Therefore Sum = [ (315*100) / (4*5)] = ₹1575
Incorrect
Answer : A
Compound interest = [P (1 + r/100)^t – P]
= [3000 (1 + 10/100)^2 – 3000] = 630 From data,Simple interest is half of compound interest Therefore, SI = 630/2 = 315 Time = 4 years, rate of interest = 5% pa Therefore Sum = [ (315*100) / (4*5)] = ₹1575
