Question 1 of 5
1. Question
A motor boat travels upstream from A to B and downstream from B to A in 9 hours. If the speed of the motor boat in still water is 9 kmph and the speed of the current is 3 kmph then what is the half of the distance between A and B?
Correct
Answer : C
Explanation : Speed downstream = (9 + 3) kmph = 12 kmph Speed upstream = (9 – 3) km/hr = 6km/hr Let the distance AB = d km Then, d/6 + d/12 = 9 hours ⇒ 2d + d = 108 ⇒ d = 36 Distance AB = 36 km Half of the distance = 18 Km
Incorrect

Correct
Answer : D
Explanation : S.I. on Rs 15000 = (15000×6×1)/100 = Rs. 900 Profit to made on Rs 30000 = 30000×20/100=Rs 6000 S.I.on Rs.15000 = 6000-900 = Rs.5100 Rate=(S.I.* 100)/(P * T) = (5100×100)/15000 = 34% per annum

Correct
Answer : C
Explanation: Ratio of efficiency = 5*5/6 : 6 = 25 : 36 A man can finish the job in 25x days A woman can finish the job in 36x days 9/36x + 10/25x = 13/40 Time taken by 1 girl = 72 days 72/6 = 12

Question 4 of 5
4. Question
Vishal rides on a bike to a place at a speed of 22 kmph and comes back at a speed of 20 kmph. If the time taken by him in the second case is 36 minutes more than that of the first case, what is the total distance travelled by him (in km)?
Correct
Answer : B
Explanation: Let the distance travelled by Vishal in first case or second case = x km x/20 = x/22 + 36 min => x/20 = x/22 + 3/5 hours => x = 132 km.
Hence, the total distance travelled by him = x + x = 132 + 132 = 264 km
Incorrect

Correct
Answer : B
Explanation: Quantity 1 = (5c2 * 4c2)/12c4 = 60/495=4/33 Quantity 2 = (5c2 * 4c1 *3c1)/12c4 =120/95=8/33 Hence Quantity 1 < Quantity 2
