Question 1 of 5
1. Question
What is the number of terms in the series 117,120,123,126…..,333?
Correct
Sol. (b)
Given series is,
117, 120, 123, 126, ……, 333
It is an AP series with first term, a=117, last term
T = 333 and common difference, d = 3.
As we know for AP series,
T = a + (n – 1) d
333 = 117 + (n-1) 3
n = 73
Hence, number of terms in the series are 73.

Question 4 of 5
4. Question
If A = x2 – y2, B = 20 and x + y = 10; then
Correct
Sol (d)
According to question,
A=x² – y²
= (x + y)(x – y)
= 10(x – y)
B = 20
Now, it is not possible to compare A and B, as the
value of x and y is not known. Hence, option (d) is

Question 5 of 5
5. Question
Let x, y be the volumes; m, n be the masses of two metallic cubes P and Q respectively. Each side of Q is two times that of P and mass of m/x and v = n/y. is two times that of P. Let u =
Which one of the following is correct?
Correct
Sol. (a)
Let each side of P cube be a. Then, each side of cube would be 2a.
Mass of P = m
Mass of Q = n = 2m
So, volume of P = x= a3
and volume of Q = y = (2a)3 = 8a3
u=m/x=m/a3
