Question 1 of 5
1. Question
1 pointsConsider the following statements regarding debit or credit card tokenisation.
- Tokenisation refers to storing of debit or credit card details by the merchants while making payments.
- Recently RBI has banned the tokenisation system.
Which of the above statements is/are correct?
Correct
Solution: d)
Many merchants and e-commerce entities force customers to store debit or credit card details, which increases the risk of card data being stolen. This can be avoided now with the Reserve Bank of India allowing tokenisation of cards while making payments.
What is tokenisation?
It refers to replacement of card details with an alternative code called a ‘token’, which is unique for a combination of card, token requestor and the device, the RBI says. It reduces the chances of fraud arising from sharing card details.
With effect from January 1, 2022, no entity in the card transaction or payment chain, other than the card issuers and card networks, should store the actual card data.

Question 2 of 5
2. Question
1 pointsConsider the following statements.
- The Government announces the hike in Minimum Support Price (MSP) for various crops after adjusting it to CPI inflation.
- Barley, Lentil and Rapessed are some of the crops included under MSP.
Which of the above statements is/are correct?
Correct
Solution: b)
The Government announced an increase in Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Rabi crops.
Why do farmers say that the new prices are a reduction of MSP in real terms?
Farmers are calculating the MSP at the prevailing Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation rate. They said that for June, July, and August, the inflation rate was 6.3%, 6.35%, and 5.6%, respectively. Now, the government announced MSP for six Rabi crops — wheat, barley, gram, sunflower, lentil (Masur), rapeseed/mustard.
Barring lentil and rapeseed/mustard, which have seen a 7.8% and 8.6% hikes, respectively, the MSP of the other four crops was enhanced between 2% to 2.5%. The farmers say that going by the prevailing inflation rate, which may remain between 5% and 6%, the farmers will see a reduction of MSP by 3% to 4% in real terms for the four crops. Even with lentil and rapeseed, the MSP benefits will come down to 1.8% and 2.6% from 7.8% and 8.6%.
