[UPSC CSE 2020] Interview Transcript 13

 

Entered the room, wished chairperson first, then other board members. I was asked to sit down. Chairperson said wearing mask was mandatory, but  keeping face shield is my choice. Since it was fogging up in no time due to breathing, it was impossible to see things through properly and communicate. I opted to remove face shield.

 

Chairperson:

1. How are you feeling today?

2. You have worked for so many years. Why did you leave it?

3. What made you choose civil services as career?

4. How can you say you are a good person?

5. How many have you helped till now all these years?

6. India has pledged for total ban on single use plastic. Is it materialized yet? How is the progress? Has India been successful? Is it even realistic?

 

Member 1:

1. Population of your town? Households?

2. Did you study in village? How many schools and colleges are present in your locality?

3. Do you think India will win over Belgium? ( Men’s hockey)

4. How is COVID impacting economy?

5. How can we secure international supply chain so that manufacturing doesn’t affect during pandemic?

1. What are your service preferences?

2. Name 3 scientists from your state and their contribution ?

3. If you are a district magistrate ,  what  are the three priority areas you would focus on?

4. Your opinion about social media? It’s role in administration? Are you active on social media?

5. Measures to improve water conservation?

6. Women empowerment

 

Member 3:

 

1. Status of biotechnology sector in India? ( My graduation subject)

2. Why is research and development less in India comparatively? Any suggestions to improve it?

3. Do you think investment is major lacuna for sorry state of RND in India?

4. RTPCR is latest development after pandemic isn’t it?

5. What can you say about present Climate change issues? Is climate change only a result of anthropogenic activities?

6. Measures already taken to tackle climate change

1. Jogging how many kilometres? How often?

2. Role of algae in climate change?

3. Anthropological study of onge tribe? Sentinales?

4. Radcliff brown and Andaman tribes?
