In given passage, it has been stated that by reducing transparency, competition and openness in the system, the capitalist people, who have often link with the politician have created a situation where there is lack of opportunity for new enterprise and chances of economic growth are also low. These capitalist have received lands, resources and various licences by wrongful mean by offering bribes to the corrupt politician. This dangerous nexus between the capitalist and politician needs to attacked and stopped. By increasing the transparency, nexus of capitalist with politician and their wrongful means of doing business will be exposed and stopped. By promoting financial inclusion, opportunity for growth will be made available to the every individual. Therefore, choice © will be the most suited answer .

The given passage states that climate adaptation may prove ineffective, if the policies are not designed keeping in mind other developmental concerns. Passage emphatically states this by giving an example where policies are made on food security with reference to the climate change. These policies may include the measures which can increase the agricultural productivity like crop diversification, agricultural extension, water and pest management along with agricultural information services. Finally, passage says that these measures may be directly linked to the climate change or might be linked with other economic development. So, it can be concluded that climate adaptation should be followed along with other economic development. Therefore, option (d) will be the best suited answer.

Passage talks about biodiversity and explains biodiversity as various kinds of plants, animals, microorganisms and ecosystems in which they are found. Passage further states that water and biodiversity depend on each other and hydrological cycle decides how biodiversity will perform its function. It is stated in ‘the passage that understanding the role of biodiversity in hydrological cycle will help in better policy making. Author further says that movement of water is guided by the soils and plants of the region and he emphatically states that every glass of water which human consumes passes through biodiversity and ecosystem. Author says that in the previous decade, banking sector has seen high degree of automation and launched the products which cater to the middle- class and upper middle-class of society. Author then further says that in present scenario, there is need for new agenda in banking and non-banking financial services which should cover the common man. So, in a way author says that banks should try to cater for large population rather on specific class of society. Therefore, it can be concluded, author wants to give message that there is need to increase financial inclusion. So, option (d) suits best as answer.

Sol. (b)

In this passage, author talks about benefits of safe and sustainable sanitation in slums for the females. But author also says that women usually do not feature in most of the schemes and policies of sanitation. It has been further stated in passage that manual scavenging still exist and it is proof that much has not been done to promote pour- flush toilets. In order to improve the sanitation, it is important that sustained and mass scale campaign should be done with primary focus on abolition of manual scavenging. So, in passage there is mention about need of increased awareness and campaign for safe sanitation, so, the option (b) will qualify as answer.
