Question 1 of 5
1. Question
A person can do a piece of work in 26 days and an another person can do the same work in 39 days. If they work together, then by what per cent the wages of 1st person is more than that of 2nd person?
Correct
Answer: d
Let 1st person be x and 2nd person be y.
Then, x’s 1 day’s work= (1/26)
y’s 1 day’s work = (1/39)
x’s share: y’s share = (1/26):(1/39) = (3/78): (2/78) = 3:2
Difference of ratio = 3-2 =1
∴Required percentage = (1/2) ´ (100%) = 50%
∴1st person’s wages is 50% more than the 2nd person’s wages.
Incorrect
Answer: d
Let 1st person be x and 2nd person be y.

Question 2 of 5
2. Question
A alone can finish a work in 2 days, while B alone can finish it in 3 days. If they work together to finish it, then out of total wages of 6000, what will be the 20% of A’s share?
Correct
Answer : a
As 1 day’s work =(1/2)
B’s 1 day’s work = (1/3)
A’s share B’s share = (1/2):1/3) = (3/6):( 2/6) = 3:2
A’s share = (3/5)*6000 = 3 *1200 = Rs 3600
∴20% of A’s share = 3600 *(20/100) = Rs. 720
Incorrect
Answer : a
As 1 day’s work =(1/2)
B’s 1 day’s work = (1/3)
A’s share B’s share = (1/2):1/3) = (3/6):( 2/6) = 3:2
A’s share = (3/5)*6000 = 3 *1200 = Rs 3600
∴20% of A’s share = 3600 *(20/100) = Rs. 720

Question 3 of 5
3. Question
Vandana can do a piece of work in 10 days. With the help of Ruchi, she can do the same work in 6 days. If they get 200 for that work, then what will be the share of Ruchi in the received remuneration?
Correct
Answer : d
Vandana’s 1 day’s work = (1/3)
(Vandana + Ruchi)’s 1 day’s work = (1/6)
∴Ruchi’s 1 day’s work = (1/6)-(1/10) = [(10-6)/(6*10)] = (4/60)=(1/15)
∴Vandana’s share: Ruchi’s share = (1/10) : (1/15) = (3/30) : (2/30) = 3:2
Ruchi’s share = (2/5) ´200 = Rs. 80
Incorrect

Question 5 of 5
5. Question
Amit, Vipul and Kapil can do a piece of work in 12, 16 and 24 days, respectively. If they complete the work together and get an amount of R 2700, then what is the share of Vipul in that amount?
Correct
Answer : d
1 day s work of Amit = (1/12)
1 day’s Work of Vipul = (1/16)
1 day’s work of Kapil = (1/24)
Amit’s share : Vipul’s share Kapil’s shars : Kapil’s share = (1/12) : (1/16) : (1/24) = (4/48) : (3/48) : (2/48) = 4 : 3 : 2
Now, Vipul’s share = (3/9) * 2700
=3 * 300 = Rs. 900
Incorrect
Answer : d
1 day s work of Amit = (1/12)
1 day’s Work of Vipul = (1/16)
1 day’s work of Kapil = (1/24)
Amit’s share : Vipul’s share Kapil’s shars : Kapil’s share = (1/12) : (1/16) : (1/24) = (4/48) : (3/48) : (2/48) = 4 : 3 : 2
Now, Vipul’s share = (3/9) * 2700
=3 * 300 = Rs. 900
