Question 2 of 5
2. Question
5 men start working to complete a work in 15 days. After 5 days, 10 women are accompanied by them to complete the work in next 5 days. If the work is to be done by Women only, when could the work be over, if 10 women have started it?
Correct
Answer : c
According to the question,
5 men’s 1 day’s work= (1/15) ………………………..(1)
5 men’s 5 day’s work= (1/15)* 5 = 1/3
Remaining work = 1 – (1/3) = (2/3)
5 men + 10 women can do (2/3)of the work in 5 days.
5 men +10 women can do the whole of
the work in (15/2)days.
(5 men + 10 women’s) 1 day’s work = (2/15) ……………….(2)
10 women’s 1 day’s work
= (2/15)-5 men’s 1 day’s work
=(2/15)-(1/15)=(1/15)
∴10 women can finish the work in 15 days.
Incorrect
Answer : c
According to the question,
5 men’s 1 day’s work= (1/15) ………………………..(1)
5 men’s 5 day’s work= (1/15)* 5 = 1/3
Remaining work = 1 – (1/3) = (2/3)
5 men + 10 women can do (2/3)of the work in 5 days.
5 men +10 women can do the whole of
the work in (15/2)days.
(5 men + 10 women’s) 1 day’s work = (2/15) ……………….(2)
10 women’s 1 day’s work
= (2/15)-5 men’s 1 day’s work
=(2/15)-(1/15)=(1/15)
∴10 women can finish the work in 15 days.

Question 3 of 5
3. Question
4 men or 6 women or 10 children can paint a house in 5 days. The painting is given to a couple and their 5 sons. They finish the job in
Correct
Answer : b
4 men= 6 women = 10 children
1 man = (5/2)children
1 women = (5/3) children
Now, 1 couple + 5 children
=1 man + 1 woman + 5 children
= [(5/2)+(5/3)+5]=(55/6) children
According to the formula,
M1 D1 = M2 D2
10 * 5 = (55/6)*D2
∴D2 = (60/11)=5(5/11)days

Question 4 of 5
4. Question
4 goats or 6 sheeps can graze a field in 50 days. 2 goats and 9 sheeps can graze the field in
Correct
Answer : d
Part of field grazed by 4 goats in 1 day = (1/50)
Part of field grazed by 1 goat in 1 day = (1/(50 *4)=(1/200)
4g=6s [here, g=goats, and s= sheeps ]
1s = (4/6)g=(2/3)g
Now 2g+9s=2g+9*2/3goat
Now, 2g + 6g=8g
∴8 goats can graze the field in
[(1/8) /200]= 25 days
Incorrect
