Question 2 of 5
2. Question
A landowner increased the length and the breadth of a rectangular plot by 10% and 20% respectively. Find the percentage change in the cost of the plot assuming land prices are uniform throughout his plot.
Correct
Answer : d
Let the length of plot be=a
And the breadth be=b
So area will be=ab
Now after increasing in length and in breadth by 10% and 20% respectively, so now
Length will be=11/10a
Breadth will be=6/5 b
New area will be=11/10a*6/5b
=66/50ab
Percentage change in area=66/50ab-ab/ab*100
=66-50/50*100
=16*2
=32%
