There are 5 members in a family. And their average monthly income is ₹ 10,000/-. The income of a particular member is increased by ₹ 1,20,000 per annum. What is the new average monthly income?
Correct
Answer:
Total income of the family = 5 × Average monthly income
= 5 × ₹ 10,000
= ₹ 50,000
The income of a particular person is increased by ₹ 1,20,000 per annum.
The increment in the monthly income = ₹ 1,20,000 / 12
= ₹ 10,000
The new average monthly income = (₹ 50,000 + ₹ 10,000) / 5

Question 2 of 5
2. Question
The average weight of 8 persons is increased by 2.5 kg when a man with 65 kg is replaced by a new man. Find the weight of the new man?
Correct
Answer:
Let the average weight of 8 persons be ‘x’ kg.
Total weight of 8 persons = 8 × Average weight
= 8 × x
= 8x
(8x + New man’s weight – 65 kg) /8 = x + 2.5
8x – 65 + New man’s weight = 8 × (x + 2.5)
= 8x + 20
∴ New man’s weight = 20 + 65 = 85 kg
∴ Ans. c) 85 kg

Correct
Answer:
Total expenditure on five days = ₹ 120 × 5

5. Question
The average temperature of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday was 19⁰C. The average temperature of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday was 20⁰C. If the temperature on Friday was 20⁰C. What was the temperature on Tuesday?
Correct
Answer:
Tuesday + Wednesday + Thursday = 3 days × 19⁰C = 57⁰C
Wednesday + Thursday + Friday = 3 days × 20⁰C = 60⁰C
Wednesday + Thursday + 20⁰C = 60⁰C
Wednesday + Thursday = 60⁰C – 20⁰C
