Question 2 of 5
2. Question
Nandita scores 80 % marks in five subjects together, viz., Hindi, Science, Mathematics, English and Sanskrit, where in the maximum marks of each subject were 105. How many marks did Nandita score in Science, if she scored 89 marks in hindi, 92 marks in Sanskrit, 98 marks in Mathematics and 81 marks in English?
Correct
Answer : a
Total of maximum marks of all subjects = 105 x 5 = 525
80 % of 525 = 525×80/ 100= 420
Obtained marks of four subjects ( Hindi, Sanskrit, Mathematics and English )

So, the obtained marks in Science = 420 – 360 = 60
Incorrect
Answer : a
Total of maximum marks of all subjects = 105 x 5 = 525
80 % of 525 = 525×80/ 100= 420
Obtained marks of four subjects ( Hindi, Sanskrit, Mathematics and English )

Question 3 of 5
3. Question
In a factory, the ratio of the numbers of employees of three types A, B and C is 9 : 13 : 18 and their wages are in the ratio of 10 : 7 : 4 . If number of employees of type C is 54 and wages of every employee of type B is Rs. 1400, then find the total wages of all the employees of type A.
Correct
Answer : b
Given ratio of employees = 9 : 13 : 18
Let number of A’s employees = 9x
Number of B’s employees = 13x
And number of C’s employees = 18x
According to the question, 18x = 54
X = 3
\Number of employees of type A = 9x 3 = 27
Similarly, Wages of every employee of type A = 10/7 x 1400 = Rs 2000
Required wages = 27 x2000 = Rs. 54000
Incorrect

Question 5 of 5
5. Question
Out of 120 applications for a post, 70 are males and 80 have a driver’s license. What is the ratio between the minimum to maximum number of males having driver’s license ?
Correct
Answer : c
Since, there are 70 males out of 120 applicants, there must be 50 females. For the minimum number of males to have a driver’s license all 50 females must have a driver’s license. Thus, the number of males having a driver’s license, will be 80 – 50 = 30. The maximum possible number of males having a driver’s license is 70. The ratio between the minimum and the maximum is 30 : 70 or 3 : 7.
