Insights with Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) Mr Rajiv Mehrishi IAS
Recently we, InsightsIAS, had an opportunity to meet Mr Rajiv Mehrishi (IAS) CAG India, former Defence, Home and Finance Secretary to the Govt. of India – at his residence and discuss challenges related to civil services exam preparation, IAS profile and also about his popular book – India 2019.
We had an opportunity to learn about challenges that an IAS officer faces in her/his career and also what kind of expectations UPSC has from candidates when they prepare and appear for civil services exam etc. We learnt that civil services, especially IAS, is a highly rewarding job as long as one is focused only on public service and remain committed to the job in hand. Officers who are honest, efficient and unbiased are recognised and rewarded in this service – irrespective of the government in power.
Coming to his book – India 2019 – is meant to motivate aspirants to be inquisitive and improve their ‘general awareness’. This book, unlike others, is not just compendium of facts. It has analytical touch to most of the issues where author’s experience can be noticed (especially economy related issues/events).
If interested, you can buy his book:
We will be coming up with more informative videos on issues in future. Please subscribe to our YouTube Channel to not miss such videos.
