Is Poverty the Worst Polluter?
Some argue that poverty in the worst polluter. Some say, no, pollution is itself a form of poverty. Is poverty responsible for environmental pollution? Who is more responsible for pollution – rich or poor? Will eradicating poverty lead to less environmental pollution? Have we misunderstood Indira Gandhi’s quote -(“Are not poverty and need the greatest polluters?”)?
