DoPT has released clarification regarding number of attempts and age relaxation which they notified recently.
These apply for everyone whether they are freshers or not.
A General category (unreserved) candidate now has 6 attempts and can write until he is 32. If one has exhausted all 4 attempts and he/she is 30, they will get two more attempts provided they are born after August.
