The Hindu – Wikileaks Cables makes it very clear that our foreign policy is determined by the USA. It is indeed crafted to suit the strategic needs of USA.
Wikileaks even reveals that USA played an important role in determining who should be our cabinet ministers!!
Stooping to such a level is nothing but selling us to some other country.
Do we lack ingenuity to formulate our own foreign policy that benefits our country and us? One hurdle that is in the way of our accession to the superpower status is not the lack of resources, or lack of talent, but it is the lack of courage to assert its conviction on the international stage.
USA has become superpower at the cost of countries like India, which cow down under pressure instead of standing up to the situation – independently and assertively.
